Abinav Sridharan started learning Carnatic Classical music from the age of four under the tutelage of his mother, Dr. R.S. Padmasini. After years of intensive training, he was given the opportunity to work with Mr. Abhaswaram Ramjhi, who first introduced Abinav on stage as a professional singer. He has also been a part of A.R. Rahman’s Kids Choir and has lent his voice in numerous movies and concerts for Dr. Rahman. Later, Abinav's curiosity to learn Hindustani Classical music led him to become a disciple of Ustad Ghulam Akbar Khan of Rampur Sahaswan Gharana and presently forms a part of the eighth generation of the Gharana. In the year 2008, he joined Dr. A.R. Rahman's KM Music Conservatory to pursue his Foundation Course and Diploma in Music Performance and Audio Technology. Winning awards and accolades during every year of his studies at KMMC, he was also the first recipient of the A.R. Rahman Foundation Scholarship for his Bachelor studies at Middlesex University, London. Completing his Bachelor's Degree with a distinction enabled Abinav to receive the King's India Masters Scholarship for Masters' Degree studies at King's College, London.

Being a regular performer on stage from the age of eleven, he has presented concerts in genres ranging from Carnatic and Hindustani Classical music to Indian and Western Classical Art songs and Opera.
